November is hot in athens greece

in 1967 just before the elections and while the democratic-left wind was ready to win the elections, the army is on the streets, military law was imposed and the intergovernmental country gets to the military, clearly motivated by the Americans . they even apologised a couple of years ago ….


In November of 1973 students occupy the politechnic university located in Patision street in Exarchia and ask for the withdrawal of the junta and democracy now . On 17 November 1973, tanks, the army and police invade the field of the politechnic university, students had many victims- and the revolt suppressed inblood.

Αfter that riot in 1974 junta left and so we have “Democracy” …
yeah sure
whatever, every 17th of November we protest against the usa empassy…
Usa was responsible for the military junta we had here in greece …

strike on the trains .Metro only till the station Plakendias 2morrow

there is a big conflict with the national train organisation in greece couse there are hundreds of people about to lose their jobs so they fight back with strikes .
this month is gonna be a real mess with the trains .Trains mostly go to Thessaloniki and other cities but also they control the train that takes u to the airport .It is not the metro, it's called 'trainose' ...

I think 4 this winter we'll need cheap and good places : CRISIS. we also have the confilct with the cigarettes, if u smoke indoors or outdoors. now it is illegal to smoke indoors ...but greeks still smoke indoors...everything stays expensive and according to a research we are 40% more expensive than last year !!!! IMF is here , so let's all join the party with strikes in the public transportations and people blocking the streets ..that's athens .
Of course it is not allways like that and u can relax and have fun moving around in athen's rhythm ,which is pretty nice , like the weather here .

Acropolis is open 2night 4 the full moon

everything is fine with the money and stuff and so u can enjoy the full moon from acropolis or sounio .
u don't need money to visit acropolis tonight and I am sure u will love the view of  the moon

•  Lots of archaeological sights will remain closed on the night of the 24th of august cause the government doesn't have money to give to the security guards who protect the ancients 
• .this is happening for the first time as in the past, every year , on the full moon of august all the ancient  sights were wide open for the public.this year acropolis and Sounio will possibly NOT be open .
• however the new museum of acropolis will be open and a big concert for free will take place there .

no 1 in europe

the price of unleaded petrol is nearing €1.80  per litre. It is not very nice to drive around and for sure since it is expensive the petrol will also rise up food soon . 

full moon in athens the 24th of August

enjoy the full moon of august all over greece on the 24th of august. u can go at night and visit the acropolis or a theater .They are all open at the night of the full moon and that is for free.

This year, however, the guards complain couse they are asked to work for free that night so we don't know yet if  all the ancient pearls will be open for the public on the 24th of this month ...

free camping in the center of athens

this is cool:) well today in SYNTAGMA square from 12 till midnight u can go and do free camping there !!! people organize that to support the free comping on the islands of greece .Take ur tent and go camping in the center of athens today , now

strike at the port of Pireaus .the boats can't leave

lots of problems now at the port . Be patient , it has to do with the economic crisis here

metro on strike ! whats going on?

3rd strike on the metro in athens . Why is that ?
end of summer the company of metro is probably going to fire 100 people so : solidarity .

Today the company went to justice and said that the strike is illegal and it is no good 4 the passengers since it is also hot in athens nowadays, so soon we will know

ok , things will be cool in the weekend in athens, like the weather. when i say cool don't think there will be no protest and stuff, but not that huge .the big protest is on the 20th of the month ...

really nothing to worry about but please when there is a strike don't go to ur job ...people are really really angry here and I say people , not anarchists ...last day ordinary people tried to invade to the parliament ...
what can they do? they get so less and now they are about to lose everything ...

hello , what would u say if people occupied the whole center in athens in the next few hours and for some days? oh dear that is an option but 4 sure u r not in any kind of danger ...there is a party outside ..join it , things are not that bad , police will not kill u and the demonstrators will not touch u ! it is like December 2008 .awesome 4 alternative people , cool 4 free minds , if u dont like it here just move to usa police state :)

well about 2morrow: everything (buses, metro, tram) works from 10am till 5pm
the strike and the protest is gonna be huge . nothing to worry about howver. I would say
that u should be part of that and enjoy it .
as you might notice, there are lots of protests nowadays because of the economy .It was allways like that here, up and down .
so we are like used to all that so there is not a problem . Don't trust the media much and get on the streets !
